Google search ranking systems revealed 😱

Hi Reader,

Have you heard the breaking SEO news? 🤔

Pandu Nayak, the VP of Search at Google, revealed how Google search and rankings work.

You’re probably familiar with many ranking systems by now (e.g., BERT, Helpful content system, PageRank, reviews system).

However, Nayak mentioned new components essential for rankings, such as:

  • The page itself (a.k.a., “the words on the page")
  • Topicality
  • Page quality
  • Reliability
  • Localization
  • Navboost (Google's algorithm that memorizes past clicks that have been issued for past queries and optimizes results for navigation-based searches.)

I've summarised the major interview highlights, but you can read the entire article here.

What does this information mean for you?

Google boosts niche websites with positive online user behavior and relevant and fresh content that aligns with E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authority, Trust) requirements.

High-quality content can rank well on Google even if it's published on a new website and doesn't have incoming links.

There are some limitations, but it's true!

I've tested this assumption multiple times, and it worked well, not only on my website.

Remember that the content quality bar will continue rising since we live in a digital world overloaded by content.

But that's an excellent opportunity for niche experts to grow their websites through content.

If you want to learn how to create high-ranking content, analyze user intent, research easy-to-rank keywords, and optimize content for E-E-A-T, check my SEO ebook.

I hope this email is useful for you! ❤️

Have a lovely day.

Victoria
